Job Description:

RGK Innovations is a portfolio of global consumer products brands (one of which was recently featured on ABC’s Shark Tank) with a focus on ecommerce and digital marketing.  We have found ourselves with a rapidly growing domestic and international retail business and need help managing these various outlets. Looking for an experienced, enthusiastic individual with the patience to do so!

We essentially want a retail geek – someone who gets excited about planograms, shipper displays, inventory turnover, customer psychographics. We are also looking for someone who has a keen eye for chargebacks, PO payment timing and all the other jazz that goes with managing a retail relationship.  You have a proven track record of working with major national retailers on either the retailer or brand side and have a tolerance for the level of precision necessary in these relationships.  You are detail-focused and pride yourself on your ability to generate results. In this role result = happy customers, compliant retail executives and continual purchase orders. Sense of humor is a plus! Our team works extremely hard...but we laugh hard too!

We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who wants to take what they’ve learned in their career and apply it in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.  This is a chance to move the needle and do work that matters. You would be working hand-in hand with the company founders and would be a main point of contact for our retail relationships.

Had you been with us last month, you would have:

  • Coordinated on-site with our inventory control manager in the integration of Costco EDI with our back-end ERP system
  • Project managed and virtually participated in the draft design of our new retail packaging with our Director of Marketing and in-house Graphic Designer
  • Finalized last minute details, documents and requirements for our upcoming Canadian Tire launch
  • Confirmed that production forecasts aligned with required delivery dates for March delivery of large POs
  • Coordinated with contract sales force and graphic designer to execute on shipper displays and planograms for Home Depot
  • Performed background research on international opportunities in Sweden, Brazil, Mexico and Japan
  • Prepared and executed on required document set for Walmart account set up
  • Audited damage claims and miscellaneous charge-backs from a recent retailer payment and done low-level battle on our behalf to correct errors
  • Participated in a dozen video hangouts with our global staff, co-worked with one of our founders in Park City, co-worked with our 3PL and Inventory Manager in West Salt Lake and teleworked from wherever else the rest of the time 

To be a good fit for this job, you must have:

  • Experience in sales management/administration to large accounts. You know the ins and outs of big corporate buying departments, how they think and operate. Ideally, you will have worked with Costco, Walmart or Target.
  • An obsession with detail – the right candidate will realize right away that managing these relationships is also about managing data and information flow. You need to be comfortable with that and keep the entrepreneurial founders out of the weeds as much as possible.
  • A hawk for cost-savings. Margins are slim with these relationships and identifying cost savings in the process is going to be vital.
  • A creative eye. You may not be a designer yourself but you should have a good feel for retail design and be able to communicate it with our creative team.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to get your hands dirty and hack on whatever needs doing.
  • A strong bias toward self-directed execution. You love working independently and thrive when given the freedom and flexibility outlined above. You don’t need a babysitter. We are a decentralized company with employees on four continents.  You’ll co-work periodically with UT-based staff, but will often be teleworking. 

This position is Salt Lake or Park City based but largely telework, you will have a mix of co-working with one of our Park City based founders located in shared space near Jeremey Ranch, and on-site work at our West-Valley based 3PL.   Despite the distances, we have a startup, close-knit family feel and a focus on results, collaboration, and learning fast. The ideal candidate for this position will be looking for a long-term opportunity with advancement potential. We are growing very quickly, and aim to continue that acceleration! The value you add in retail will be a big part of that.
